Portobello Masjid is a community-led mosque based in Portobello, Edinburgh, serving the vibrant and diverse Muslim community of Edinburgh, East Lothian, and the surrounding areas.

We are a welcoming space for worship, learning, and service, rooted in the Islamic values of compassion, knowledge, and unity. Our mission is to support your spiritual journey and help strengthen the bonds that bring our community together.

Since the early 2000s, we’ve been honoured to serve the local community. We are especially proud to be the first mosque in Edinburgh to produce two homegrown Huffaz, raised right here in our city, who now dedicate themselves to serving the people of Edinburgh.

We offer a range of religious services, educational programmes, and spiritual support for Muslims in the area. Our doors are open to everyone, regardless of background, who wishes to learn about Islam and engage with the Muslim community in a positive and respectful way.
